Niall Treacy’s Milano Cortina 2026 campaign got underway in dramatic fashion on Tuesday, with the Team GB short track speed skater showing exactly why he’s regarded as one of Britain’s leading names on the international circuit in the men’s 1000m.

Day 3 of the Olympic Winter Games is a big one for British Ice Skating - with Ellia Smeding making her Milano Cortina debut in the Women’s 1000m, and the individual Figure Skating events getting underway as Ice Dance opens with the Rhythm Dance for Lilah Fear & Lewis Gibson and Phebe Bekker & James Hernandez.

Edward Appleby closed out Team GB’s Figure Skating Team Event campaign at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games with a season’s best 69.68 in the Men’s Short Program, as Great Britain secured a ninth-place finish overall in the qualification standings.

The Figure Skating Team Event at Milano Cortina continues on Day 1, Saturday 7 February 2026, with the men’s segment taking centre stage — and Edward Appleby set to represent Team GB in the Men’s Short Program as the Team Event qualification stage is completed.
