THINKING ABOUT LEARNING TO ICE SKATE?
Ice skating is a fantastic sport to take up at any age, providing a wide range of physical, mental and social benefits. If you're interested in learning how to ice skate, find out more about how to get started below!
SKATE UK
Skate UK is British Ice Skating's official learn to skate program, offered by over 40 rinks around the country, designed to teach you the fundamentals of ice skating.
Young learners (aged 2-5) can choose to start with the Skate Tots programme, while everyone else can get started with the core Skate UK course; no previous experience or skills are needed to start taking part.


FIND YOUR CLOSEST ICE RINK
Not all rinks offer Skate UK classes, but all will offer some form of learn to skate programme or classes. You can also start out by attending public skating sessions just to try skating on your own or with friends before you decide if you want to commit to any lessons.
