Milano Cortina 2026: Day 1 schedule — Edward Appleby in action for Team GB

The Figure Skating Team Event at Milano Cortina continues on Day 1, Saturday 7 February 2026, with the men’s segment taking centre stage - and Edward Appleby set to represent Team GB in the Men’s Short Program as the Team Event qualification stage is completed.

Edward Appleby will be in action for Team GB on Day 1 of Milano Cortina 2026, competing in the Figure Skating Team Event Men’s Short Program at 6:45pm UK time (GMT) - that’s 7:45pm local time (CET).

What is the Figure Skating Team Event?

The Team Event is a nation-versus-nation competition unique only to the Olympic Games that brings together the four figure skating disciplines - Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Pairs, and Ice Dance.

• In the qualifying phase, each country enters one skater/couple per discipline for the Short Program/Rhythm Dance segments.

• Teams earn team points based on placement in each segment (with more points for higher finishes).

• After all four qualifying segments are complete, the top five teams progress to the final phase, where the Free Skates/Free Dance decide the medals.
