Solo Dance Champions crowned in Sheffield

Fourteen Solo Dance Champions were crowned in Sheffield this week as more than 100 skaters from Beginner to Senior took to the ice at the Solo Dance Championships.


The event opened on Tuesday with the Beginner Girls first to compete. Five categories were decided on the opening day with podium places awarded to Beginner Girls, Beginner Boys Juvenile Boys, Basic Novice Boys, Juvenile Girls and Basic Novice Girls.

Intermediate Novice Girls and Boys were in action on the second day of the competition, alongside Advanced Novice Boys and Girls as well as Senior and Junior Men.


The Advanced Novice Girls was closely fought as Harriett Wells (71.74) beat Lillie Pang (70.71) by just 1.03, one of the closest categories of the entire competition. Daniel Kaye picked up the Junior Men’s title with Alessio Surenkov-Gultchev awarded a total score of 110.72 in the Senior Men’s.


A group of 20 Junior Women skated first on the final day of the competition, followed by 10 Senior Women. Amy World came out on top in the Senior category with a combined score of 117.97, Alana Pang earlier winning the Junior Women.
