Niall Treacy storms into the Top 16 in double distances; 1500m and 1000m!

Making his debut at the ISU Short Track World Championships held this year in Seoul, Korea. Niall Treacy set fire to the ice in a blistering round of races to place 15th in the 1000m, 16th in the 1500m and 25th in the 500m!

Niall Treacy commented “Incredibly happy with my performance at my first World Championships! After being unable to attend previously due to Covid and lockdowns I was more determined than ever to make this one count! Really grateful for all the support from British Ice Skating and the Speed Skating Performance Program! Now time for some rest before I jump straight back into it for the upcoming season!”

As well as Niall’s blistering performances, Holly Hoyland skated into 26th place in the 1000m and skated close to her personal bests in the 500m and 1500m.

Charlotte Hayward also made her World championships debut and skated consistently in all three distances.

Well done to all the Short Track performance squad on their journey throughout the 22/23 season! Time for some rest and relaxation before the 23/24 season kicks off!
