The International Skating Union is holding the Junior Short Track World Championships in the Joynext Arena, Dresden, Germany this weekend (28th, 29th January 23). British ice skating have three athletes representing them this year who have been selected from the Performance Squad.
Returning to compete for the second year running is Adam Hill Jr (18) who skates for the Solihull Mohawks; and Theo Collins (19) who skates for Aldwych speed skating club. Theo previously finished in 12th place in the 1000m.
Making his Junior Worlds debut is Isaac Raizada (19) from Nottingham Racing Club. All three junior men train in Nottingham full time with the Speed Skating Performance Program.
Adam Hill commented; “Looking forward to competing at my second junior worlds and improving on last year’s placements. This year we have really focused on the technical aspects of my skating and I’m excited to get the chance to demonstrate my development on a big stage!”
Theo Collins and Adam Hill Jr will be skating all three distances: 500m, 1000m and 1500m and Isaac Raizada will be focused on the 1000m.
