British Ice Skating is delighted to confirm that Ed Appleby will represent Great Britain at the upcoming ISU Skate to Milano Figure Skating Qualifier 2025 - Beijing, taking place 18-21 September 2025. Ed will be competing in the Men’s Singles event in his bid to help Great Britain secure one of the men’s Olympic spots still available for the 2026 Winter Games in Milano-Cortina.
This Qualifier is the last chance for skaters to earn Olympic berths in each discipline for their nation. Places still to be claimed are:
5 Men’s Singles
5 Women’s Singles
3 Pairs
4 Ice Dance teams
Skaters do not themselves qualify the spot personally; rather the spot is earned for their national federation, similar to the spots already qualified at the 2025 World Championships earlier this year in Boston.
Alongside Ed, Great Britain will also be represented on the judging panel by Mary Chapman, who will officiate at the event. Having a British Official on the panel is a mark of the respect and expertise of our officials within the international skating community.
