World Cup series ends with final race for Short Track Olympic quota places

The final Short Track Speed Skating World Cup of the series gets underway tomorrow (Thursday 25th) with Olympic quota places still on the line.


Places in the in the 500m, 1000m, 1500m for both men and women, the Men’s and Women’s Relays, and the Mixed Relay, will be secured based on the Special Olympic Qualifying Classifications.


The GB squad come into the final competition full of confidence after a magnificent display in Debrcen last weekend.

Niall Treacy, who described the last World Cup as a ‘rollercoaster of emotions’, will be aiming for his second final in successive weekends. His brothers Farrell, who made the 1500m B final, and Ethan will also be back racing. Jonathan Moody will once again start in all three distances.


Kathryn Thomson, Elise Christie and Holly Hoyland all start in the 500m, 1000m and 1500m. They will be first on the ice as the women's 1500m preliminaries open the competition at 08:00 GMT.
