British Figure Skating Championships - BBC coverage

The British Figure Skating Championships Senior competition will be streamed on BBC’s digital platforms.

The pinnacle of the national figure skating calendar will be available to watch on BBC iPlayer as well as the BBC Sport website and app on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th December. Every Senior category will be broadcast live from Sheffield as skaters seek to be crowned British Champion.

Olympic hopefuls, including Ice Dance stars Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson and Dundee-based Natasha McKay, will be in action just months before they hope to wow audiences at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.

Current British Champion PJ Hallam will skate in the men’s side of the competition, as will Ed Appleby who is stepping up to the Senior category. Appleby has had a fantastic season so far, winning Great Britain’s first Junior Grand Prix medal in 19 years.

The stream will allow audiences to get a taste of things to come as the ice skating season moves towards the Olympic Winter Games in February.

Michelle Draper, CEO of British Ice Skating, said: “In this Olympic season it’s a brilliant opportunity for fans, and those that are new to the sport, to enjoy the Senior competition from our national Championships.”
