Bolero Cup 2025: Roundup & Results

From 5th-6th September the inaugural Bolero Cup took place in Sheffield, England. An ISU international figure skating competition for ice dance, the Cup has been named in honour of the legendary 1984 Olympic performance by British Ice Dancers Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, in recognition of their remarkable careers and achievements.

With athletes from 9 nations in attendance, the event was an exciting chance to showcase international figure skating talent in Sheffield just five months before the city will host the ISU European Figure Skating Championships in January 2026.

British Ice Skating would like to say thank you to everyone, - from the athletes and their teams to the officials, volunteers and spectators - who helped contribute to the success of the event, which we hope will become a regular fixture on the international skating calendar.

British Athletes Shine

Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson debuted their new programs at the event, with their Spice Girls rhythm dance and Scottish-themed free dance proving huge hits with the audience and winning them the Senior gold medal.

GBR athletes shone in the Junior category as well, with Mimi Marler Davies and Joseph Black securing the Gold and fellow Brits Ashlie Slatter and Louis Gregory - a newly formed team for this season - winning Silver.

Legends Award Medals

Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean attended the event as guests of honour to the delight of athletes and spectators alike, and awarded the medals at the on-ice presentations. They also took some time to talk about their thoughts on the new competition and the upcoming European Championships alongside Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson:
