Skaters are now able to sign up for a place on the BIS Ice Dance Progression Camp. All applications must be made through the membership portal with bookings open until 17:00 on 6th August.
Solo Ice Dancers of Basic novice and above, based on age classification, are welcome to apply, should the camp be over subscribed those with the appropriate technical requirements will be given priority.
The camp will run on 28th and 29th August, with skaters split into groups based on their level. Skaters will be told the day they have been allocated once applications have closed.
The £75 cost per skater includes an on-ice session, gym screening, dance class and lunch. It will take place at iceSheffield and the English Institute of Sport led by a range of BIS coaches and mentors including Christopher Dean, Jayne Torvill.
Ice Dance couples do not need to apply to be part of the BIS Academy of Dance, they will receive an invitation to attend.
Athletes will be required to complete a medical questionnaire to attend, this is to allow for the full gym screening to be completed safely. Masks will also be expected to be worn when moving between classes to protect all skaters and coaches present.
The BIS Ice Dance Progression Camp will act as an accessible pathway for athletes to be invited to join the British Ice Skating Academy of Dance.
