Vaipan-Law & Digby Deliver Season’s Best to Finish Sixth at Skate Canada

British pair skating duo Anastasia Vaipan-Law and Luke Digby continued their 2025–26 campaign with a sixth-place finish at Skate Canada International in Saskatoon - highlighted by a stunning personal-best free program that placed them fourth in the segment and confirmed their growing reputation among some of the world’s best.

The reigning British Champions were competing in a world-class field that saw Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps (CAN) claim gold, followed by Minerva Fabienne Hase and Nikita Volodin (GER) in silver, and Ellie Kam and Danny O’Shea (USA) in bronze.

Building from a challenging start

After a difficult short program on Friday left them lower in the standings, Vaipan-Law and Digby returned to the ice for Saturday’s free skate determined to fight back. They did exactly that - delivering one of their most confident and complete performances to date.

Their free skate, combining power, precision and connection, was rewarded with a new personal best of 119.09 points, finishing fourth in the free skate and lifting them to sixth place overall with a total score of 167.94. The result also marked a season’s best total and underscored their continued upward trajectory after a landmark 2024–25 season that included the highest British pairs finish at the European Championships in over 30 years and securing an Olympic quota spot for Team GB at the World Championships.

Simon Briggs, Head Coach “Coming back after the short, Ana and Luke showed some true character. We’re all incredibly proud of what they achieved”

Looking ahead for Vaipan-Law & Digby

With a new personal best and another top-ten Grand Prix result, Vaipan-Law and Digby will now turn their attention to the remainder of the international season as they continue to build towards the ISU Figure Skating European Championships taking place in Sheffield next January and of course, the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games.
