Three debutants named as Team GBR head to the ISU Short Track Junior World Cup

British Ice Skating has confirmed the team selected for the opening two ISU Junior World Cups of the 2026/27 season, with three of the four skaters set to make their ISU Short Track Junior World Cup debuts.

Both events take place in Bormio, Italy, a week apart in November, giving the team back-to-back racing at international junior level.

With three places available per distance for each gender, all four selected skaters will contest all three individual distances - 500m, 1000m and 1500m across both events.

For Daniel Trowbridge, Cohen Buffey and Savi Buffey, Bormio marks a first appearance at an ISU Junior World Cup - a significant step up and an invaluable first taste of international junior competition.

They're joined by Albie Barlow, who was also named in Great Britain's senior Short Track World Tour team for the first half of the season, and who brings that experience into the junior ranks.

ISU Junior World Cup 1 - Bormio, Italy: 6–8 November 2026
ISU Junior World Cup 2 - Bormio, Italy: 12–14 November 2026

A third Junior World Cup follows in Astana, Kazakhstan in January 2027, ahead of the ISU World Junior Short Track Championships in the same city later that month.

About the ISU Short Track Junior World Cup

The ISU Junior World Cup Short Track is the international development series for the sport's next generation. Running annually since the 2023/24 season and funded through the ISU Development Programme, it consists of three events built around the individual distance format - 500m, 1000m and 1500m - alongside the 2000m mixed team relay and the 3000m women's and men's relays.

For young skaters, it's the proving ground between domestic racing and the senior World Tour: the place where international experience is built.
