British figure skaters Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson have added another achievement to their growing list of accolades, winning ice dance bronze at the prestigious 2024-25 ISU Grand Prix Final in Grenoble, France.

Their success marks the first ever British medal at the event and reflects their established place among the top ice dancers in the world.

The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating is an annual series of senior international figure skating events. Only the top six teams in each discipline, based on their performances throughout the series, qualify for the Grand Prix Final—making it one of the most competitive and exclusive events in the figure skating calendar.

Fear and Gibson delivered electrifying performances in both the rhythm dance and free dance segments, wowing the crowd and showcasing their unique artistry and technical skills. An overall score of 205.18 points secured their spot on the ice dance podium and marked their first medal – the first for any British skaters - at an ISU Grand Prix Final.

“It is such an honour to be the first British GP Final medallists, and we are so proud to represent Great Britain,” the pair said. “It’s amazing to continue the tradition of British ice dance - there are so many legends that have come before us and we are excited to lead the new generation!”

Reigning World Champions Madison Chock and Evan Bates (USA) topped the podium, with current European Champions Charlene Guignard and Marco Fabbri (ITA) winning silver. With this season’s European and World Figure Skating Championships taking place in early 2025, Fear and Gibson will be heading into the events buoyed by their recent success, which has included winning their 7th national title.

A huge congratulations to them and their team on this historic result!
