Distances: 500m, 1000m & 1500m
Dates competing: 5th, 7th*, 9th, 11th* & 16th
Kathryn Thomson has a packed schedule at Beijing 2022 as she races in the 500m, 1000m and 1500m. This will be her second Winter Olympic Games racing in all three distances.
The 26-year-old, originally a figure skater was drawn to speed skating after watching it at her local rink. She made quick progress in the sport, winning a silver medal at the 2013 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival. After the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games she was part of the team that won bronze in the mixed team relay at the 2019 World Cup.
She performed consistently throughout the four 2020-21 World Cup Olympic qualifiers, reaching a B final in the second World Cup in Nagoya, Japan.
