Information for members on voting

Following a question from a member, our scrutineers have clarified that the ballot form needs to be ticked rather than a cross to be valid.


Information on who can vote, as taken from the articles:


38.6. The following categories of membership shall have the following voting rights, and shall thereby be Voting Members of the Company as defined in Article 27.2:


38.6.1. A Full Annual Member who has been in membership for at least thirteen months shall have one vote, whether in person or by proxy (save in relation to a general meeting at which elections are held, where the relevant Full Annual Member shall have one vote in relation to each position that is the subject of a ballot under Articles 32.2.4 and 32.2.5);


38.6.1.1. A Full Annual Member who is 16 years of age or older shall be able to exercise his/her vote, in person or by proxy, him/herself;


38.6.1.2. An authorised parent or guardian, of a Full Annual Member who is under 16 years of age or otherwise lacks the relevant capacity, shall be able to exercise the vote, in person or by proxy, on behalf of the Full Annual Member;


38.6.2. A Life Member shall have one vote whether in person or by proxy (save in relation to a general meeting at which elections are held, where the relevant Life Member shall have one vote in relation to each position that is the subject of a ballot under Article 32.2.4 and32.2.5);


38.6.3. An Affiliated Association shall have one vote by proxy (save in relation to a general meeting at which elections are held, where the relevant Affiliated Association shall have one vote in relation to each position that is the subject of a ballot under Article 32.2.4 and 32.2.5). The vote must represent the due decision of the elected committee or board of directors of the Affiliated Association.


38.6.4. An Affiliated Club shall have one vote by proxy (save in relation to a general meeting at which elections are held, where the relevant Affiliated Club shall have one vote in relation to each position that is the subject of a ballot under Article 32.2.4 and 32.2.5). The vote must represent the due decision of the elected committee or board of directors of the Affiliated Club.


38.6.5. An Other Affiliate shall have one vote by proxy (save in relation to a general meeting at which elections are held, where the relevant Other Affiliate shall have one vote in relation to each position that is the subject of a ballot under Article 32.2.4 and 32.2.5). The vote must represent the due decision of the elected committee or board of directors of the Other Affiliate.
