Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson have claimed gold at NHK Trophy 2025, topping the Ice Dance podium in Osaka with an exceptional set of performances that secured their spot at the ISU Grand Prix Final in Japan this December.

It marks the second time the reigning World bronze medalists duo have qualified for the Final - and comes off the back of their silver medal at the Grand Prix de France, making them one of only a few teams this season to stand on two Grand Prix podiums.
Fear & Gibson Golden in Osaka
Fear and Gibson delivered two season-best performances to take the top spot in Japan:
Rhythm Dance:Â 81.57
Free Dance:Â 124.31
Total Score:Â 205.88
They led the field from start to finish, showcasing both technical precision and trademark performance charisma, with their already iconic Spice Girls Rhythm Dance and Scottish-inspired Free Dance drawing a roaring reception from the Osaka crowd.
The result gives the pair their second Grand Prix medal of the season and builds further momentum heading into a packed second half of the year, which includes the Grand Prix Final and the European Championships in Sheffield this January.
Grand Prix Final Qualification Secured
With a silver from Angers and gold in Osaka, Fear and Gibson finish the Grand Prix Series with 28 qualification points, placing them firmly among the top six Ice Dance teams heading to the ISU Grand Prix Final in Nagoya, Japan (5–8 December).
The Final is widely regarded as one of the most exclusive events on the calendar, with only the highest-performing teams from the Series invited to compete. Last season, Fear and Gibson made history as the first British Ice Dance team to qualify for — and medal at — the Grand Prix Final, securing bronze in Grenoble.
A Historic Medal Record
This latest win in Osaka marks Lilah and Lewis’ 10th Grand Prix medal, further solidifying their status as the most successful British ice dance team in modern history. Their Grand Prix medal tally now includes:
🥇 4 Golds
🥈 4 Silvers
🥉 2 Bronzes
Their podium streak stretches back to 2019 and includes medals at Grand Prix events across Europe, Asia, and North America.
What’s Next for Fear & Gibson

Fear and Gibson will next take the ice at the British Championships, followed by the ISU Grand Prix Final in Nagoya, Japan, where they’ll face the top teams from around the world. After that, they return home to prepare for the 2026 European Championships in Sheffield - a rare chance to compete for a major title on home ice!
British Ice Skating congratulates Lilah and Lewis on another historic achievement and wishes them the best of luck for the rest of this already historic season!
