Farrell Treacy will be skating in his second Winter Olympic Games. He'll race in the 1000m and 1500m as he did in PyeongChang 2018.
The west midlands speed skater was originally introduced to the sport accidentally when he accompanied a friend to training, although he admits he was not a natural. He made his way through the ranks and was part of the bronze medal winning mixed relay team at the 2017 World Cup in Dresden.
When selected for Beijing 2022: “It’s always special to represent Great Britain but to be selected to represent my country at the Winter Olympic Games is a massive honour. An honour the second time around for me that feels just as good as the first.”
Farrell comes into the Games having qualified for the 1500m B Final at the Hungary World Cup in November. He raced consistently throughout the World Cup series making a series of quarter-finals.
