BIS Coaching Convention 2025

We’re excited to share news about this year’s BIS Coaching Convention! Read on for details on dates, location, who needs to attend and how to book your place:

When & Where:

21st - 23rd July 2025 at iceSheffield and EIS Booking Details: Bookings will open on Monday 3rd March via Sport80, with a special early bird offer if you book your place before 1st June:

Early bird offer 3rd March - 31st May: £330 1st June - 11th July: £350 Late bookings made after 5pm Friday 11th July will incur a total cost of £400

Who needs to attend?

If you last attended a Coaching Convention in 2022 then your three-year cycle of CPD must be renewed by attending the convention in 2025.

If you have recently passed your Level 2 coaching qualification and have not yet attended a convention then you also must attend the 2025 Convention.

If you’re not due to attend the Convention this year but want to attend part of the event as an extra boost for your learning and development, a one-day booking option is also available - scroll down to find out more.

Format:

The Convention will follow a new format this year, with different days focusing on specific areas of coaching:

Day 1 - Monday 21st: Singles and Pairs

Day 2 - Tuesday 22nd: Mandatory and Generic Coaching Sessions

Day 3 - Wednesday 23rd: Ice Dance and Synchro

All coaches will need to attend a minimum of 15 sessions, including a number of mandatory sessions held on Day 2, requiring attendance over at least two days of the convention to achieve this. Coaches can choose whether they stay for the full three days or concentrate their learning over just two days. For example, a coach might attend seven sessions on Day 1 and eight sessions on Day 2 and then leave the Convention, or arrive on Day 2 and complete their 15 sessions over Day 2 and Day 3 instead – or choose to attend sessions across all three days.

One-Day Attendance

If you’re not due to attend the Convention this year but want to attend part of the event as an extra boost for your learning and development, you can now book a single-day attendance for your choice of day (Monday: Singles & Pairs focus, Tuesday: General Coaching focus, Wednesday: Dance & Synchro focus).

An early bird discount is available until 23:59 31st May.

First Aid Courses

A number of in-person First Aid Courses will be taking place alongside the 2025 Coaching Convention, open to any coaches needing to update their first aid qualification for license requirements.

Running from approx. 10am to 4pm and costing £95, you can book your place now:

Please note that if you are due to attend the Convention this year and choose to also book on to a first aid course, you must still attend 15 hours of learning at the convention - your first aid course hours will not count towards this total. We would recommend you avoid booking your first aid course on the convention day most suited to your coaching focus (Monday: Singles & Pairs, Wednesday: Ice Dance & Synchro).
