Adult skaters are a large and growing community in the UK and beyond, as increasing numbers of people discover, continue with, or return to the joy of skating as adults. British Ice Skating is committed to making our sports accessible to allow as many people to participate as possible, and we’re keen to ensure our adult skating community feels heard as we continue to evolve what we offer for them.
We’re consequently excited to announce that for the 2024/25 season we are introducing the BIS Adult Working Group (AWG). This group of individuals will provide a point of contact for feedback, discussions and projects relating to adult skating in the UK.
The group will be made up of six BIS members who skate within adult categories, alongside our BIS Ambassador and adult skater Rachael Richards.
Applications are now open for positions on the AWG. To apply, please complete our online application form here.
Applications will close at 9am Thursday 18th July*.
Please note: We want the AWG to represent a wide range of perspectives and experiences, so selection decisions may be made to ensure membership includes skaters from different disciplines, regions and backgrounds.
If you have any queries about the AWG, please email test.membership@iceskating.org.uk
*We apologise for any confusion caused by a previous communication error that referred to a closing date of 'Wednesday 18th July'.
