I bring current knowledge of the sport at every level and the financial and governance discipline the Board needs to make sound decisions.

Short Track expertise
I am an ISU referee on the International list and referee around half of the UK’s domestic Short Track competitions each season. In January I am 1st Assistant referee at the Star Class event in Bormio, evidencing first-hand insight into the sport from development racing to international level. It keeps me aware of the practical challenges facing our clubs, skaters, officials and event organisers.

I keep up to date with the rules and the ISU’s direction. This year I attended the ISU European Officials Seminar, which covered the latest rule changes, and practical application of the rules into Star Class down to national domestic competitions. It also helped maintain the relationships that support British Ice Skating’s standing in Short Track internationally.

Grassroots to elite
Alongside officiating, I support the Short Track coaching at Cambridge Club, working with skaters at the start of their journey up to competing internationally. Together with domestic and international refereeing, this gives me a view of the whole pathway: where it works and where it needs investment.

Board and committee experience
Before joining the Board, I served on the Short Track TAC, so I understand the committee operations and how they should be held to account. During my first term I have served on the ARGC. My attendance of board and committee meetings has been amongst the highest.

Finance and strategy
Professionally, I am a finance leader with experience in financial planning, analysis and commercial finance. This experience enables me to scrutinise budgets and management reporting rigorously, challenge assumptions constructively and help direct BIS’s resources where they deliver most for the sport.
