ALEXANDER COLLINS

POSITION STANDING FOR:

TAC: Speed Skating

Vacancy: Short Track Official

CANDIDATE STATEMENT:

I have been involved in speed skating in this country for more than 15 years now at different levels, and
started ice skating before this at a very young age. Having now trained as a referee and officiated 31
competitions in the last 3 years, including the position of Chief Referee at the BIS British Short Track
Championships in the 25/26 season, I have been nominated for the ISU international list of referees. I have
attended the four meetings of the Speed Skating TAC in 2026 to learn how it operates, and firmly believe I
would be a suitable candidate for this committee. I intend to work with the committee to ensure speed
skating can be as inclusive as possible at all levels of competition, from the new skaters just beginning up
to the international athletes aiming for the next Olympics.

Nominator: Peter Worth

Seconder: Steve Humber
