Podium streak continues for Fear & Gibson with a silver in France

The result marks a strong start to the 2025/26 ISU Grand Prix Series for the reigning world bronze medallists, who continue to build momentum in the Olympic season and extend their impressive Grand Prix podium streak.

The 7-time British champions opened the weekend with an electric Rhythm Dance, scoring 84.38 - a new season’s best and easily the highest RD score of the event.

In the Free Dance, they followed up with another sharp and emotionally charged performance, scoring 125.86 - another season’s best and placing second in that segment.

Their combined total of 210.24 marked a third season’s best, securing 2nd place overall in a tightly contested field and coming within 0.94 points of the gold medal.

Fear & Gibson’s performances in Angers reflected a team growing stronger with every outing. Both programs showed increased speed, control, and impact - a promising sign as they build towards the second half of the Grand Prix Series. Their silver medal in Angers continues a podium streak that includes medals at both 2024 Grand Prix events and the historic Grand Prix Final bronze in Grenoble last season - the first ever Grand Prix Final medal for Great Britain.

Final scores - Grand Prix de France

  • Rhythm Dance: 84.38 (1st, Season’s Best)

  • Free Dance: 125.86 (2nd, Season’s Best)

  • Total Score: 210.24 (2nd Overall, Season’s Best)

Fear & Gibson will next compete at NHK Trophy in Osaka, Japan (7–9 November) — their second and final Grand Prix assignment of the season. A strong finish there could see them qualify once again for the ISU Grand Prix Final, which brings together the top six teams across the series.

The event also saw British representation on the judging panel, with ISU-listed official Sundeep Pandya serving as a judge in Angers - continuing Britain’s presence on the international officiating stage.
