We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting the BIS Short Track Performance selection event in Nottingham at the National Ice Centre on the 16th, 19th, 22nd and 25th August 2021. The Purpose of the event will be to select the Great Britain performance team for the 2021/22 season, as well as the following:

BIS TASS nominations
World University Games
Selection polices for these will be published on the BIS website prior to the selection event,* Please read as these selections don’t all have the same eligibility criteria
Selection Event
The event will run over 4 days during a 10-day period, the first day will be individual testing and the following 3 days will be racing, each distance being run 3 times, once per day. The highest ranked 20 women and 20 men from the testing day will be entered into the racing on days 2, 3 and 4.
Competition Format
4 Days Competition
Each day will run from 10am to 4pm – exact time will be announced closer to the event
Day 1 – Testing
7 lap time trial, 1 lap flying, 1.5 lap standing start
Day 2, 3, 4 (top 20 women and top 20 men from testing)
Each day skaters will race 1500m, 500m and 1000m
Eligibility
This competition will be a part of the selection process for the 2022 Olympic Games, therefore the following eligibility criteria will be in place to enter the Selection event:
Minimum 500m Time Standard – Women 52.00 and Men 49.00
Current BIS membership;
British passport or Clearance Certificate to skate for GBR;
All skaters must be born before July 1st, 2006
Hold Full Eligible status as per BIS Eligibility rules, published on www.iceskating.org.uk;
Adherence to BIS General Rules, Codes of Conduct and any Athlete Agreement applicable to the individual; and
Not be serving any suspension relating to Anti-Doping or disciplinary offences.

Entry Process
Please can we ask that clubs share this with all eligible members and remind them that all skaters must be entered through their club. The entry closing date for the event will be August 8th, allowing any times skated at the Oberstdorf competition to be used for eligibility to enter.
Entry Fee
The entry fee for the selection event is £40, payments should be made through clubs.
British Ice Skating will then contact clubs to take payment.
