We are pleased to announce and confirm the roll out of the education for the new National Skills tests which are replacing the current Field Move tests.
The skills will take effect from 1st January 2022, field moves tests applications will stop being accepted by the office on 31st December 2021, skaters will be able to test until 30th June 2022. We plan to educate both the coaches and judges together to make sure all receive the same information, to enable transparency throughout this process.
Coaches MUST attend BOTH the Zoom and On Ice Session to be fully accredited.
Package 1 - Zoom sessions (Part 1 & Part 2) (at a cost of £50 to coaches who will receive a OneDrive download with videos & documents prior to session. A USB containing the videos can be purchased at a cost of £10 + £2.99 PP. Furthermore, a USB containing the documentation can be purchased at a cost of £10 + £2.99PP).
Package 2 - On-ice session (Full day) (at a cost of £75 to coaches who will receive a OneDrive download with videos & documents prior to session. A USB containing the videos can be purchased at a cost of £10 + £2.99 PP. Furthermore, a USB containing the documentation can be purchased at a cost of £10 + £2.99PP).
It will be mandatory for coaches to take part in at least the zoom sessions prior to applying for any Skills tests and/or competitions with pupils by the 1st of January 2022. The coach’s convention will act as the last on ice session and will take place the day prior to the annual convention 25TH July 2022. Following the convention, coaches must have completed both parts of the education to apply for tests or enter skaters into competitions.

Part 1 – Wednesday 13th at 12pm or Thursday 14th at 7pm
Week commencing 18th October
Part 2 – Wednesday 20th at 12pm or Thursday 21st at 7pm
Group C
Week commencing 8th November
Part 1 – Wednesday 10th at 12pm or Thursday 11th at 7pm
Week commencing 15th November
Part 2 – Wednesday 17th at 12pm or Thursday 18th at 7pm
Group D
Mop up session
Week commencing 13th December
Part 1 & Part 2 - Wednesday 15th at 12pm & Thursday 16th at 7pm
On-Ice sessions:
Sheffield – 13th October in Ice Sheffield (09:00-17:00 including lunch) or 18th October in iceSheffield (09:00-17:00 including lunch).
Romford – 3rd November in Sapphire Ice & Leisure Centre (08:30-16:30 including lunch)
Dundee – TBC
We also aim to run a Q & A session for anyone who has questions to help clarify any issues they may have (date TBC).
To book onto the required education, you will need to access your individual membership portal through the following link - https://britishiceskating.sport80.com
Once you have logged in, please find a step-by-step guide below
1. Click on the COURSES Tab on the left-hand side of your screen
2. You should see ‘National Skills – Zoom Session (Coaches ONLY) – Click the Blue VIEW button
3. This will show you any Important Information – Click the Blue NEXT button
4. Click + ADD NEW ENTRY, select your account, and click the Green ADD button
5. Ensure you select ONE PART 1 AND ONE PART 2 DATE from THE SAME GROUP (for example GROUP A)
6. Enter 1 ticket in each box and click the Blue NEXT button
7. Under Individual Role please select Participant
8. Please tick the box next to Participation Validation
9. Then click the Blue CHECKOUT button
10. This will take you to your basket whereby your tickets to the sessions can be purchased (If it doesn’t, your basket can be found in the top right-hand corner of your screen). PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOUR BASKET SHOWS £50 AND 2 DATES (for example GROUP A – Part 1, GROUP A – Part 2).
11. Complete the online checkout.
The above step-by-step guide also apply to the National Skills – On Ice Session (Coaches ONLY) Course, but only one On Ice Session needs to be selected.
