VOLUNTEER AWARDS

For the Love of Skating

Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do, their dedication ensures that our skaters are able to flourish.

Many people give up their free time 'for the love of skating', ensuring events, test and other programmes can run smoothly.

The British Ice Skating Volunteer Award Scheme celebrates the immense contributions made by volunteers by rewarding their efforts.

Volunteer Award Scheme (VAS)

Our young volunteers will be recognised for their dedication to British Ice Skating or an Affiliated Club with a Youth Volunteer Award pin badge. Children up to 12 years old will be awarded the pin badge if they complete 10 hours of volunteering, with those between 13-18 years old recognised if they complete 15 hours.

Volunteers over 18 years old will be recognised with Bronze, Silver and Gold awards based on how many years they have volunteered. For a bronze badge a volunteer needs to complete one year, three years for a silver badge and five years for gold. A Platinum badge will be specially awarded to those who continually go above and beyond as a volunteer.

Any volunteer (member or non-member) of any age will be able to submit their name to the VAS, with no minimum hours required. Anyone who submits a log sheet will receive a participation certificate, regardless of the hours they are able to complete.

To become part of the all you have to do is note any time you spend volunteering on a log sheet that you can find here

All time between 1st July-30th June can be recorded by you or a club up and submitted by the 31st July.

The British Ice Skating Volunteer Award Scheme will incorporate an Officials Recognition Programme with more details to be released soon.
