RDPT Camp/Seminars
A two day camp/seminar will be held on 11th/12th January in Blackburn and also on 18th/19th January in Swindon with the aim of educating both skaters and coaches following the very successful ISU Pair and Dance Development seminars, which took place in Obertsdorf and Berlin.
The first day will commence in a generic format for pair skaters, dancers, single skaters and coaches. Participants will then split into separate pair and dance disciplines with demonstrations by dance and pair couples who attended the ISU seminars.
Singles skaters and coaches are encouraged to attend to benefit from all aspects of the camp in order to encourage multi-discipline knowledge and greater individual success.
The content will consist of:
ON ICE
Back-2-Basics -Figures, turning technique, basic exercises.
Compulsory Dances
Pair element technique
Choreography
OFF ICE
Video footage from Obertsdorf/Berlin
Ballet class
Centre work and allegro
Body and movement coaching
Choreography and partnering
IJS program planning
National Pair Test Introduction
Q&A
Amongst the moderators will be coaches who attended the ISU seminars and have committed to providing successful seminars, in order to give skaters and other coaches a better understanding and greater knowledge of what it takes to become a world class athlete.

NISA Regional Development Pathway Team (RDPT) & Performance Dance and Pair seminars
As part of NISA’s continued commitment to the development and training of our Licensed Coaches and skaters, a two day seminar will be held at Blackburn 11th & 12th January 2010 and at Swindon 18th & 19th January 2010.
The seminars will be moderated by the NISA Licensed coaches who were funded to attend the 2009 ISU Development camps for Dance in Oberstdorf and Pairs in Berlin earlier this year.
These seminars will be provided as per the agreement NISA had with these coaches when they were nominated to participate in the ISU camps and, as well as discipline specific sessions , there will be focus on generic use of edges, turns and steps with additional off –ice sessions covering music, choreography, program planning etc .
The seminars are specifically targeted at RDPT and Performance skaters and their coaches. However, the seminars will also be open to non-RDPT skaters and coaches if places are available.
Parents of skaters attending without a coach must take responsibility for their skater.
Subsidised rates will apply for RDPT and Performance skaters and NISA Licensed coaches of Pair and Dance RDPT/Performance skaters.
Please note that in response to requests from members, NISA will not automatically provide food at these seminars. Delegates will be able to bring their own or go off site for food. However if any delegate wishes to purchase the food provided to moderators a food voucher must be purchased in advance of the seminar. Vouchers can not be purchased on the day.

Development and Performance Announcement
NISA is pleased to announce the launch of the new Development and Performance structure which includes Regional Development Pathway Teams (RDPT) in addition to the NISA Performance Team.
All volunteers, coaches and judges who have registered an interest to assist with these Regional Development Pathway Teams will be contacted in due course and NISA thanks them for their offers of support.
The flowchart and the explanatory notes illustrate how the new structure will function.
The first stage in setting up the Regional Development Pathway Teams (RDPT) system is to acknowledge talented skaters in order that they may have the opportunity to apply to access any possible available funding. Further information regarding Performance and Development Teams will be available in due course.
Skaters may apply to be accepted to the RDPT by submitting RDPT test application forms which include IJS/RJS test and age confirmation according to the Talent Identification Criteria for tests.
Applications by test will commence prior to 1st July 2009 but with an age criteria of 1st July 2009.
As at 1st July 2009 referees of RJS (6.0) Open Competitions and NISA Championships will be responsible for completing Talent Identification reports with the names of skaters who meet the Talent Identification Competition Criteria.(to be published shortly)
Ages set against Talent Identification Criteria for 2009/10 may be subject to change if necessary once the first applications and recommendations have been received and considered
The RDPT will include both RJS and IJS skaters and team members will be announced at the end of April with additional skaters added as they apply and qualify.
Members who have been involved in the consultation process should ensure that they do not refer to any documents dated prior to 6/4/09 as many changes have been incorporated.
