As per ISU Communication 1670, published in April 2011, the Advanced Novice dances for the 2012/2013 season will be groups 2 and 3.
For the IJS Deeside event, Group 3 will be used and skaters will skate the Kilian (6 sequences) and the Blues (3 sequences). Following the Congress decisions, skaters will be permitted to use their own music for the Kilian. Skaters may also choose tunes 1 to 5 of the ISU pattern dance music as their selected music should they wish to do so.
All skaters and Coaches are requested to read the detailed ISU communications relating to the pattern dances and rules changes, particularly in relation to music selection and the marking of Key Points within the pattern dances. The specific requirements MUST be followed if selecting your own music.
Communications 1670, 1721, 1738 and 1739 should be studied in detail and can be found at www.isu.org, then clicking on the Communications box down the left side of the page. When reaching the communications page you can either scroll down the page or type the communication number into the search facility.
Should anyone require further clarification of these rules, please contact the NISA Technical Director by e mail on Ann@thefindlays.co.uk in the first instance.
