Ice Skating Magazine Goes Online

iSKATE Magazine has today announced that they will be the first Ice Skating Journal to move online. The magazine is now in its fourth year and the team felt that it was important to make the magazine as accessible as possible.

‘There are no plans to move the magazine totally online, and existing customers will continue to receive there physical copy in the post as normal’, Heath Rhodes has commented. ‘Ice Media took over the magazine in November 08 and has worked considerably hard to make the magazine successful. We reviewed the situation before Christmas, and agreed that there was a mass market opportunity missed with a downloadable magazine’.

The February edition is currently being offered to people as a download from the website at www.iskatemagazine.com at a price of £1.25. You can pay via PAYPAL by either a credit card or as a PAYPAL account holder.

‘With the continued popularity of online digital communities like Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, Twitter etc., its seems as if we are missing a trick with not making the magazine available to a greater international community of skaters who normally would not buy the magazine’ Heath commented further, ‘We are a download company here at IMP, we specialise in online products like audio and video streaming, web building, and much more. As well, we are one of the earliest companies working in download. We streamed Ice Hockey very successfully both live and on demand as far back as seven years ago, we delivered Ice Hockey back onto TV as a result of that, we also stream lots of live NISA events with an audience who now rely upon the service’.

Sales of the magazine have grown since the acquisition, and the new design and approach has been greeted with a lot of positive comments from the subscribers. iSKATE have also confirmed that they will probably move all the back issues to download soon as well.

iSKATE Magazine comes out every month covering the most topical occurrences on ice with a strong focus on British Ice Skating.
