GB Team Competes in ISU JGP Istanbul

The final competition of the ISU Junior Grand Prix series took place in Bosphorus, Istanbul last weekend (14 – 17 October).

Performance squad members Daniel King and Katie Powell took part in their second event of the Junior Grand Prix series. Daniel achieved a season’s best score of 107.76 overall and placed 18th in a field of 25 of some of the top Junior Men’s skaters in the World. Katie obtained a score of 85.73 overall and placed 27th.

Danielle Bennett and Joseph Buckland, also GB performance squad members, skated in their first International competition since the formation of their partnership. Danielle and Joseph obtained a score of 102.67 overall, which earned them 15th place.

This season’s ISU Junior Grand Prix series has seen the most competitors entered from GB in quite some time, following the launch of the new NISA Development and Performance structure. This has meant that in the Junior Grand Prix standings GB have 3 Men, 4 Ladies, 1 Pair and 4 Ice Dance. This is a significant increase in numbers from previous seasons.

NISA would like to congratulate all of the skaters who have taken part in the Junior Grand Prix series and look forward to seeing them compete in other International events.
