Long Track Qualification Standards - Stage 1

Long Track Qualification Standards to Participate at World Cup level.

  1. The qualifying times are set for the season 2009/2010 (See Qualification Standards)
  2.  

  3. A British Citizen achieving the qualifying standard may request to compete for Great Britain in ISU Championships, World Cups and International competitions for the season 2009-2010.

  5. Two different Standards will be put in place, “A”- Standard & “B”- Standard. The different standards relate to the speed of the Ice and NOT the quality of the Standard.

  7.   “A” Standard will be Times skated at either Salt Lake City or Calgary. (See Qualification Standards)

  9.  “B” Standard will be Times skated at all tracks world wide excluding the two named above.

  11. Any skater achieving the qualifying standard in one distance at an event  once ratified
  12. will be allowed to compete in all other distances at World Cups for the season 2009-2010

     

  13. The Qualifying Standards set are based on the 2008-2009 World Cup program.

  15. Achieving the qualifying Standard does not on its own qualify the skater for any financial support to attend the above competitions from NISA, but a case by case review will take place.

 

All Qualifying times must be recorded by electronic timing system and the event protocol must be signed by the competition referee and forwarded within 3 months of the time being achieved to:

At the present time NISA does not have a funded program for Speed Skating in place, therefore any expenses incurred are the sole responsibility of the athlete.

Only times skated in the 2008/2009 or 2009/2010 seasons will be considered for the World Cup program 2009/2010.
