The Piece Hall Ice Rink: Fun... For A Cool £3

EVERYONE can visit Calderdale's coolest attraction for just £3 this winter.

The Rink, in the Piece Hall, Halifax, is back for the third year and offering its lowest admission fee ever.

From its first session on November 22, until Friday December 19, every weekday there will be two cut-price sessions from noon to 1pm and from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.

After Friday December 19, skating will be charged at standard prices. It will cost £7.50 for anyone aged 20 or over or £6.50 with a Passport to Leisure card. Under 20s will pay £4.50 or £3.50 with a Passport to Leisure card.

Skaters will be able to stay on the ice until 6.45pm on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

Last year more than 20,000 people got their skates on at The Rink. The figures were around 5 per cent up on the first year in Christmas 2006.

Skate hire is included in the price, but anyone wanting to take their own skates is welcome to. All skaters must be over four and under-12s must be accompanied by a skating adult.

Wheelchair users will also be welcome at The Rink. Ice marshalls will be on hand to help. Tickets can be booked at the Victoria Theatre box office on 01422 351158 or bought on the day at The Rink.
