Importance Changes to the World Anti Doping Agency Prohibited List
This is a reminder that the 2011 Prohibited List will come into effect from 1 January 2011.
The main changes to the List are as follows;
New on the Prohibited List
. A new category S0 has been introduced. It is prohibited to
take any substances that are undergoing pre-clinical or clinical development and are therefore not officially allowed for human therapeutic use.
. Desmopressin as a masking agent is now included.
No longer on the Prohibited List
. A Declaration of Use is no longer required. This means that
the following are not prohibited
- salbutamol* and salmeterol by inhalation
- glucocorticosteroids by inhalation
- glucocorticosteroids administered by localised injection
- platelet-derived preparations
*PLEASE NOTE: Salbutamol still has a threshold level of permitted use (maximum 1600 micrograms over 24 hours), and a TUE is required for Formoterol and Terbutelline.
Category changes
. Methylhexaneamine changes from a non-specified to a specified
substance.

ISU 2010 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods
Please find attached a copy of the 2010 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods.
This List will be valid from
January 1, 2010 and will be valid for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.
Please note in particular the following changes:
* Salbutamol (maximum 1600mcg over 24 hours) and salmeterol by inhalation
will no longer require a Therapeutic Use
Exemption. Instead a Declaration of Use must be made. The presence of
salbutamol in urine in excess of 1000ng/ml will
be considered as an Adverse Analytical Finding. A TUE will still be
required for Formoterol and Terbutaline.
*Pseudoephedrine will be reintroduced to the List and will be prohibited
above 150 micrograms per milliliter.
*Until the end of 2009 athletes on the ISU Registered Testing Pool must
still have a TUE to use inhaled salbutamol and
salmeterol. Skaters who have a current TUE for these substances which
expires after 31 December 2009 will not need to
renew their TUE.
