A COUPLE are hoping their new `synthetic' ice rink will help them glide to success.
Dale Wilson and his wife, Amanda, have invested £100,000 in the facility called Ice-Blok, in the Cockhedge shopping centre, Warrington.
The rink - which measures 10.5m x 10.5m - is made from a specially-treated plastic and can accommodate around 30 skaters at a time.
It is attracting around 700 enthusiasts a week and the couple now hope to open another rink in either Greater Manchester or Liverpool within 18 months. They hope to capitalise on the popularity of TV programmes such as Dancing on Ice.
"It has been a lot of hard work getting to this point but also immensely satisfying," said Dale. Around 10 years ago, there were 22 youth clubs in Warrington - now there are just two."
