It is with great fondness that we remember our dear friend John at this annual event held in his name.
John grew up in London of Swiss parentage and was a trained chef. He was a member of the Streatham Ice Dance Club, where he was involved in the Dance Club and the Formation Teams, and later Guildford Ice Dance Club.
As a registered NISA judge up until his retirement in June 2010, John was a regular figure judging ice dance and synchronized skating at both home and international events. John loved ballroom dancing and ice skating and took his responsibilities as a test judge very seriously, providing fair and precise feedback to all.
The Guildford Ice Dance Club (GIDC) would therefore like to extend an invitation to all ice dancers to the annual John Amiet Memorial Charity event. All proceeds from the evening will go to support lukemia research.
