NISA is pleased to announce the appointment of Jon Eley to the NISA Board as the Director to represent Speed Skating. The role will advise the Board on the strategic development of Speed Skating provision and assist in driving policy and investment into the sport.
The appointment has been made in accordance with the Articles of Association, after advertising for suitable candidates. Jon has a wealth of experience in the sport, being a recently retired Olympic Short Track Speed Skater who attended three Winter Olympics and was Team GB Flag Bearer and Team Captain in Sochi in 2014.
Jon is currently emplyed by the English Institute of Sport as the Academy Manager at GB Short Track Speed Skating. Jon is also a current member of the British Olympic Association Athletes commission and a columnist at the Nottingham Post, promoting an inside view of the sport within the region.

Speed Skating is one of ice skating's growing and exciting disciplines, and NISA is keen to promote and develop the sport, at both grassroots and elite level. We are also working closely with UK Sport to improve our Governance which will facilitate the return of the GB Short Track Speed Skating programme back to NISA. I look forward to working closely with Jon to drive the development of speed skating forward."
