Junior GB skaters head to St. Gervais for ISU Junior Grand Prix

Four junior figure skaters will be representing Great Britain at the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating this week in St. Gervais, France. The competition will take place from the 24th to the 28th of August and is part of the series that is comprised of seven international events, leading up to the ISU Junior Grand Prix Final which will be held in December.

Junior Ladies skater Kristen Spours enjoyed a successful season last year, having represented Great Britain at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Boston in March, achieving a score of 42.46 in her short programme. Two-time British National Junior champion Graham Newberry will be skating in the Junior Men category.

Both Spours and Newberry competed at the first ISU Junior Grand Prix of last season in Bratislava, with Spours achieving a score of 89.06, and Newberry a score of 129.29 which saw him finish in the top 15.

Junior Ice Dance Couple Sasha Fear and Jack Osman will also be taking to the ice in France. The pair spent ten days in Oberstdorf, Germany in April at the ISU International Ice Dance Seminar for Junior Dance Couples, where they spent a lot of time honing their skills for this season.
