IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Entry Into British Basic Novice A Championship

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

ENTRY INTO BRITISH BASIC NOVICE A CHAMPIONSHIP

The NISA Board has considered an anomaly in the qualification process for the British Championships at Basic Novice A Level.

It transpires that some skaters, who are age eligible for Basic Novice A were unable to enter Open Competitions to achieve the qualifying Technical Element Score (TES) due to the generic criteria at Level 6 retaining the maximum test requirements.  This issue was compounded by some open competition announcements applying the ISU age categories for Basic Novice A competitions.

In the circumstances, the Technical Director will consider exceptional entries into the British Championship at Basic Novice A level for skaters who meet the following criteria:

  • Age eligible for Basic Novice A as per the announcement
  • Holds Level 6 test standard or above
  • Has a TES from a Novice B Ladies event which, with the score for the lowest value jump element deducted, meets the Novice A TES of 11.5
  • Has a TES from a Novice B Boy’s event which, with the score for the 2 lowest value jump elements deducted, meets the Novice A TES of 11.5

Any skater fulfilling the above criteria, should attach the relevant PDF to their entry form as per the announcement.
