This weekend, junior skaters from Olympic short track speed skating squad, GB Short Track, will be in action at the ISU World Junior Short Track Speed Skating Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The international competition will take place from Friday 29th to Sunday 31st January and will include tough rivals from the likes of the Netherlands and South Korea who will be returning to defend their World Championships titles.
Representing Great Britain in their very first Junior World Championships appearance will be Jonathan Moody and Jack Burrows.
The squad’s newest member, Moody has done well to establish himself as a strong contender. As well as achieving new personal bests at the Dresden Invitation Cup and Star Class competition, Sweden in 2015, earlier this month he was crowned 2016 National British Junior Champion and won his first international medal in the 1000m at the Star Class competition in Nottingham.
For Burrows, having already experienced international success at competitions such as the Winter Youth Olympics 2012 where he took gold in the mixed relay; he will be hoping to leave his mark on the world stage once again in this competition.
