GB Short Track Face Their Toughest Rivals at the Holland International Invitation Cup

After a successful start to the season following a round of personal bests at their first international, GB Short Track will travel to Dordrecht, Netherlands in high spirits for the Holland International Invitation Cup, taking place from 10th to 11th October.

Following their achievements at the recent Dresden Invitation Cup, Great Britain skaters will be looking to persist with strong performances this weekend.  Representing Great Britain will be Billy Simms, Richard Shoebridge, Murray Cochrane, Farrell Treacy, Paul Stanley, Charlotte Gilmartin, Jennifer Pickering and Elise Christie.

Each athlete will race over 1500m, 1000m and 500m distances over the two days as well as taking part in the male 5000m relay and female 3000m relay.

Travelling to Dordrecht with the team will be GB Short Track Coach, Nicky Gooch who said;

“This will be the last competition in preparation for the World Cup Series and so this weekend we will be working on race tactic and strategy.

“There will be tough competition against skaters from 12 nations but I remain confident that we have a great team of athletes competing at the Holland International Invitation Cup.”

Results from the competition will be available after the event on the news section of the NISA website. Live results will be available on the Short Track Online website.

The Short Track Speed Skating season will take GB Short Track to a variety of competitions and qualifiers across the globe and will culminate in the World Championships, which will be held in Seoul, Korea in March 2016.
