Last week, four NISA skaters took to the ice in Trnava, Slovakia. The international Junior and Advanced Novice competition took place from 22nd to 25th October and after performing both their short and free programmes, each skater claimed a spot in the top 10.
Anna Litvinenko, 14 from Guildford and Morgan Swales, 16 from Sheffield, both competed in the Junior Ladies category. For Anna, this was her second international of the season. Having competed at the Junior Grand Prix in Colorado Springs earlier this year she used her experience on the world stage to her advantage claiming silver and a second place on the podium.
For Morgan, this was her first international of the season. Having competed in the IJS Sheffield back in August against some of the top British skaters in her category, this was a great chance to showcase her talent against some of the best in the world. Morgan rose to the challenge, placing 8th in her category.
In the advanced novice category, NISA skaters Kia Blackburn, 14 from Milton Keynes, and Alexia Walker- McGrath, 13 from Sheffield stole the show claiming 1st and 2nd respectively. For both girls this was their first taste of the international stage for the 2015/16 season and they certainly made the most of their debut.
On their return to the UK, Morgan, Kia and Alexia will be back in training for the British Championships in December. For Anna, however, there is one more international to focus on in Croatia before she looks to her training for the nationals.
Massive congratulations to all four girls for their performance here and their continued efforts throughout the season. We look forward to seeing what future competitions have to offer Anna, Morgan, Kia and Alexia, as well as the rest of our skaters.
