The TV series which airs its first episode on Tuesday 11 August 2015 at 5pm features the National Ice Centre and the life of its many skaters. The series will continue with nine further episodes due to air every Tuesday afternoon until October 2015. In the build up to this series airing, a music video has been launched to the sound of Jess Glynne’s ‘Don’t be so hard on yourself’.
Ice Stars follows the ups and downs, both on and off the ice, of a dedicated group of young people with exceptional skating skills living in and around Nottingham. From high octane ice hockey players to synchronized dancers and individual performers, these youngsters aim to be the best. Future Olympians balance school and friendships with international competitions, whilst beginners learn to shine.
Kez Margrie, BBC Executive Producer said: “The passion and commitment of these young people is remarkable. Going behind the scenes at the ice rink opens up a whole new world of hard training with highs and lows which pushes their dedication to the limit and forges strong friendships.”
