Josh has been competing in Short Track at Club level for over eight years, and in 2010 qualified for the GB Squad.

The Nottingham native is one of Britain’s best junior skaters and finished in sixth place in the 2010 Junior World Championships.

Currently studying part-time for a BTEC in Sport at Loughborough College, Josh is working hard to develop a ‘Performance Lifestyle’ which is essential to support his transition into an international athlete.

In the 2014/15 season Josh brought home two medals from the German leg of the international Star Class competition, one Bronze for his overall competition win and Silver in the 1500m.


How did you get into skating? My dad took me along to the rink and got me into the sport.
What is your favourite distance to skate and why? My favourite distance is 1500m because it is about strategy and mental toughness.
What is your greatest achievement to date? Finishing in 6th place at the Junior World Championships in 2010.
Sporting ambition: To compete in an Olympic Games
What is your favourite skating memory? Going to the Junior World Championships. It was an incredible atmosphere and great to see the best in world compete.
Tip for the top: Pain is temporary

Who is your sporting hero? In skating my hero would have to be Hosuck
Studies: I’m doing a Sports BTEC at Loughborough College.
What’s the one thing you can’t live without? One thing I can’t live without would have to be my motorbike!
