On 1st July 2014 NISA announced the new squad structure for the 2014/15 season, along with the required TES scores and the specified elements. In previous years access to the squads was based on test levels achieved by a certain age. The new structure in place does make gaining access to the squads a little tougher than previously - skaters must achieve the required scores and specified elements, and these must be evidenced with the production of a PDF which meets all of the above criteria. NISA currently holds three levels with the Development programme - UK Talent Potential, Regional Development 2 and Regional Development 1. Qualification to the squads is based on achieving a technical element score in competition, NISA test levels, and required elements.
Skaters under the age of 10 (i.e not able to achieve a Basic Novice competitive test score in competition) are able to qualify for Regional Development 1 based on test levels and required elements only. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the document specifying the requirements.
Skaters in the Solo Dance category can qualify for the squads up to Regional Development 2 only - further progress through the squad system for ice dance must be as a couple.
