Job Description
To develop, advise and implement the provision of Short Track Speed Skating programmes within the East Midlands Region.
To ensure that skaters within the Regional Performance squad have access to quality coaching at affordable rates
To ensure that skaters with ability and interest, from the general participation programmes within the ice centres, are encouraged to join the Regional Performance squad
To identify skaters with potential talent who should be moved from the Regional Talent Development squad onto the National World Class Performance programme
To mentor the part time Talent Development coach within the NIC to increase the standard of coaching provided
Assist in the education and training of coaches and athletes in areas specific to high performance sporting environment
To develop and increase the use of cutting edge knowledge
To actively increase and raise the profile of Short Track Speed Skating within the East Midlands Region.
To provide advice and direction in relation to the following key areas
• Fitness preparation for athlete performance
• Seasonal and year planning of on and off ice training for athletes
To prepare and submit progress reports and key performance indicator data to Sport England on a three monthly basis
