UK Sport funding announcement provides gateway to PyeongChang 2018 for GB Short Track

The GB Short Track team are now looking forward to PyeongChang 2018 following the news that the sport has been awarded £4.35million in funding over the next four year cycle.

The indicative figure awarded by UK Sport, which equates to £753,800 annually, is based on strict conditions being met in year one to develop and grow the sport in order to create a medal winning programme ahead of the next Winter Olympics.

Director of Performance for Short Track Speed Skating, Stuart Horsepool commented: ďFollowing our most successful Winter Olympic Games earlier this year, UK Sport has recognised that GB Short Track is now an effective small operation, and we will now be working closely with them over the next year to develop the sport and our world class athletes even further.
