Double Olympic Champion Dame Kelly Holmes will be talking to Olympic Triathlete Hollie Avil at the UK charity Beat’s first ever conference on disordered eating in sport and fitness to take place on 27th September at Loughborough University.
After a rapid rise from juniors to number 1 in the world, at the age of only 18, Hollie was then selected for the Beijing Olympic Games. She will share her personal story of the eating disorder that led to the premature end to a very successful international sporting career.
Dame Kelly is supporting the event – organised by Beat – the UK’s leading eating disorder charity in association with Loughborough University Centre for Research into Eating Disorders – as she is keen to ensure that other talented athletes do not have the same experience as Hollie.
